Name: Chirag Arora
Occupation: Solution Integrator with an MNC
Age: 24
Highest weight recorded: 110 kilograms
Weight lost: 35 kilograms
Duration it took me to lose weight: 1 year
The turning point: Once I wanted to buy a XXL jacket. When it didn’t fit me, the shopkeeper told me that I had to lose weight to fit into their biggest size as well. That’s when I decided to change things.
My Breakfast: 1 glass lukewarm lemon water on an empty stomach, 6-8 almonds, 1 glass skimmed milk without sugar and 1 apple
My Lunch: 3 rotis without ghee, 1 small portion vegetable, 1 bowl dal, salad and curd
My evening snack: 1 portion of fruit, either high in water or citric content and less in sugar
My Dinner: 2 rotis without ghee, 1 bowl of dal, salad, 1 small portion of vegetables
I indulge in: I eat whatever I crave for. However, I stick to small portions.
My workout: 20 minutes of treadmill, 15 minutes of cycling, 15 minutes on cross trainer, 40 minutes of weight lifting and stretching
Note: Avoid using an elevator, try to walk as much as possible
Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Masala oats, home made bhel puri, sprouts salad, vegetable sandwich, egg sandwich, paneer sandwich (without oil and mayo)
How do I stay motivated: When it comes to losing weight, you know for a fact that there’s no shortcut. It takes a lot of work, time, and effort. There is no such thing as an overnight diet. For a sustainable weight loss, it has to be done the natural way. No pills, no fad diets, and no starvation. My friends and family motivated me throughout my journey. Watching videos on YouTube and reading motivational quotes also helped.
How do you ensure you don't lose focus: Starting the actual diet is not easy. Finding the right weight loss plan takes some time. If you do find the right plan, keeping up with it can be quite challenging. You should always keep in mind that nothing comes easy when you’re trying to lose weight so stay motivated by keeping track of your goals and think why you have started this journey in the first place.
