It's really such a victorious moment for India's young daughters as The ordinance of POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.)has been promulgated on 21 -04 -2018 by President Ramnath Kovind.
The significance of the Act is that the country is going such bad phase from Kanyakumari to Kashmir Rape, abuse and murder of children has become the headlines every morning, the government has taken such a good decision
Main features of POCSO ;
The minimum punishment for rape made 10 years
If rape is done In the case of a woman aged below 16 the minimum punishment made 20 years
The minimum punishment for rape on a girl aged below 12 has made into rigorous 20 years imprisonment and the maximum death penalty.
The fine imposed to shall be just and capable of meeting the medical expense and rehabilitation of the victim.
If a police officer commits the rape anywhere shall be given rigorous imprisonment of 10 years
Investigation in rape case to be completed in 2 months
No anticipatory bail for a person who commits rape on a girl less than 16 years

And let's not forget the firm stand of Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal. DCW under Swati Maliwal had sent more than five lakh letters Prime Minister that were received by DCW but found no action taken so she had taken such a step to go on indefinite hunger strike. and her nine days fasting for bringing the change in the countries criminal law system in rape and murder. Swati Maliwal these thirty-three-year-old woman has done such a great effort, at Rajghat she started her indefinite hunger strike and refused to break it though she fell ill and requests from many till the government promulgated POCSO. And finally, people of India won the historic win.
Let's hope the fast track justice and fast-track punishment will open the eyes of criminal rapist and fear will grip before committing any such heinous crime
at the same time, it’s the responsibility of socio- psychologists to study why such overspreading of rape culture in our country and suggest practical guidelines to the authority and authority to work and anyway the Act has brought a light to many
